Something I taught my 11 yo: Sociopaths have an advantage in the short term because they're not constrained by shame, but once people realize what they are, it starts to work against them.

Sounds like a good topic for an essay

Is there certain acceptable level of sociopathy for YC? I.e. some sociopathic tendencies that you’re ok with because they don’t deter the success of everyone involved in YC?
-
This is a fair question. IIRC sociopathy arises due to a lack of "co-feeling." It is a disability. It is also a superpower. There are some sociopaths who work hard to compensate for their deficits, e.g.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdPMUX8_8Ms …

I think you’re right, and I’d take it one step further. Most sociopaths don’t think of what they’re doing as fooling others in the first place, so they don’t think they’re doing anything wrong
-
In general, there would be more sociopaths clutching for power and fame, which means they would be represented more in entrepreneurial environments, and even further more in VC funnels, by default. YC is just an extension to that credentiality game for most such people.
