Something I taught my 11 yo: Sociopaths have an advantage in the short term because they're not constrained by shame, but once people realize what they are, it starts to work against them.

Why would YC attract them? I would have thought the opposite.
It's a credential, and it gets you access to networks of powerful people. Sociopaths love both of those.

Fair enough. But at the same time it requires being vulnerable and openly dealing with failure too right? I’m not sure they love those parts that much.

I think they're confident they'll be able to fool the YC partners about such details once they get in.
