Just realized that Jessica and I have donated more to defeating Trump than to any other cause. Which sucks. As in literally sucks huge amounts of money away from important problems. This is a hidden but very significant cost of increasing polarization.

The real cause is the non democratic distribution of electoral college votes and senate seats, tho. Polarization has nothing to do with that.

Too many people are being blindfully pulled into the spotlight of direct fight with the symptom (Trump), which is a loose-loose, while neglecting the real cause: center-to-slightly-conservative voters' concerns not being properly addressed by liberal agendas.
