Anything is an improvement over glass and steel.
I'm ready to be convinced by architectural traditionalists, and then when they tweet pictures of buildings they love, often as not they're Victorian or Beaux-Arts horrors.

When the neo-traditionalists tweet photos of contemporary traditionalism (e.g. Poundbury), they always seem to evoke a sense of strangeness and dread and I'm not sure why.

I think it's because they're just as "command and control" as the modernists they're criticizing, but they try to hide it in "look! everybody is smiling and mom has a pie in the oven!" imagery.
