It seems like in flight cabin refresh/pressurizer systems can reduce risk. It's possible that business class boarded first and sat through the entire boarding process with minimal cabin air refresh while on the ground.
what I would like to know is how frequent these plane superspreading events are. The fact that they can happen is not as interesting as the odds.
This is blowing my mind. I tested positive. Quarantined and did my own tracing and recommending testing for all contacts in my “bubble”. All tested negative, including my spouse. Found out only 17% chance of infecting a partner. There must be massive variation in contagion.
Really?? Well damn this really blows a hole in my family plan of “well if one of us tested negative we’re all good”
How can flying with its compact restrooms et al defying any distancing not be risky, right? “You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.”
Surprised not more. This was pre mask wearing. Is there something similar for today’s protocols?
Superb work #Vietnam !!

"Two meals were served" / "The role of fomites ... remains unknown" / "no data available ... on use of face masks" / "Face masks were neither recommended nor widely used ... among travelers from Europe" - Maybe keeping face masks always on would have reduced n_cases.
Is anything known about the rate of air turnover on this flight? It’s a good point about lower air turnover during the boarding period itself.
