The euphemism is bad enough, but in this case it's even false. If the first had actually been a learning, the second wouldn't have happened.

Maybe we shouldn't jump on someone's awkward phrasing like the media do whenever someone gives many hours of testimony and they look for the one place he stumbled. This is why I hate reporters.
