The phrase "replication crisis" seems a bit misleading. It suggests something that suddenly arose, and could, by taking the right measures, be fixed. Whereas in fact it seems to be part of the intellectual foundations of some fields.

Replication Crisis >> Replication Genesis? Surprised not more *embracing* of the tradition, as defence and further descent into parallel cult universe

Alternatively, dispense with replication entirely as it’s a “master’s tool,” and invent your own epistemology—make a subjective turn. That way you don’t have to participate in systems of power and you can have the irrefutable truth of lived experience. No replication needed.

In other words, it’s actually far worse than your original tweet as some disciplines opt out of the idea of replication entirely.

Humbly accepting that the scientific method is a tool, not a God, and that we have the dexterity of a chimp in using it is a good first step.

Could it be that the system rewards new findings & results more than it rewards following the scientific process? or maybe the scientific process has been followed the first time but the differences are due to context & other factors that complicate reality.
