The conversation is, somewhat understandably, all about whether SF is “done” as a tech hub. Seems plausible in the short term, less clear in the long run. Conversation I’ve not yet seen: Obviously impossible to know the future, but what would be the signs of a resurgence?

I'm pretty sure SF only became the Valley's tech "hub" after the focus shifted away from the major established players and toward startups that set up in SF proper for cultural/social reasons, i.e. to attract young singles who usually prefer city life over Valley 'burb living.
