People who want to solve societal problems are obsessed with getting the facts right, coming up with concrete solutions, & appealing to common humanity to change minds & build a broad coalition. When people are doing the opposite, fixing things may not be the deep down motivation

Don't you think that for some global problems (like climate change, or some societal issues), raising awareness (which could be sometimes perceived as complaining) is part of fixing the problem, as it requires a global effort ?

When someone points out the importance of a problem and proposes a specific actionable solution, is that considered complaining? Not usually in my experience.

I always ask the complainers what ideas they have to actually fix the problems they bemoan. Almost always no ideas and never good ideas.
