2012 was pretty good. Turning point in the global economy and social mobility. Obama re-election. The Olympics.

I don't think we really experience good things collectively in the same way we experience bad things collectively.

This is probably the correct answer, although 2015 is being pointed to as a year with alot of less discussed but important wins for society. “Good Years” for most people are probably years where 2+ positive life changing things happened to them, for me it was 2019.
