      We didn't move it. The first 3 years we were in both places. We'd migrate every 6 months. We just stopped migrating when we had our first child. If we hadn't had kids, YC might still be in both places.

      Interesting, I didn't know that. Curious, what would have been the benefit of the rotation? Obviously, rent. But at the time, what was the thesis? Also, thoughts on starting a co. in Canada?

      If there was a thesis, it was that being on both coasts gave YC a "national" presence. Really though it was because we loved Cambridge and didn't want to abandon it completely.

      It was great living in both places before we had kids. SV and Boston are both good, but in completely different ways, so living 6 months in each was better than living in either alone.

          Totally get this. Cheltenham and the Cotswolds are terrific. Quite a few important businesses there as well as the top class Cheltenham Ladies’College. Also a significant part of the UK’s aerospace heritage. Solid part of the world!

          @paulg I realise this is personal, so feel free to ignore this, but being from Gloucestershire myself, how on earth did you decide to move there from SF? I'm honestly curious as to how your family made that choice, as it's almost the last place I would have expected!
