If you are CEO of a venture-backed startup, where would you move your company to outside of CA?

Interesting, I didn't know that. Curious, what would have been the benefit of the rotation? Obviously, rent. But at the time, what was the thesis? Also, thoughts on starting a co. in Canada?
If there was a thesis, it was that being on both coasts gave YC a "national" presence. Really though it was because we loved Cambridge and didn't want to abandon it completely.

It was great living in both places before we had kids. SV and Boston are both good, but in completely different ways, so living 6 months in each was better than living in either alone.

Fairly strong reasoning. And I can see the logic and how that makes sense. If you were to start a company today, day 0, where would you suspect you'd start it?
