      Curiously, bad government is one of the biggest forces driving innovation in remote work. Specifically the dysfunctional SF city government, high CA state taxes, and US immigration policy. If remote is the future, these policies are making it happen faster.

      Pretty sure the largest force driving remote work is the failed pandemic response. Pre-COVID remote work was exceptional; now it's normal.

      Perhaps domestic NZ companies will fall behind; but I'd expect NZ generally to do very well as people choose to live there while working for international (mainly US) companies.
