Possible scenario: It's 2025. The epidemic is over, but most big tech cos are still significantly remote, because powerful employees moved to Jackson Hole and don't want to move back. A startup emerges that's intensely not-remote, and beats one of the incumbents by moving faster.

By 2025 VR/AR will neutralize any remaining advantages to being physically co-present with colleagues.

There’s going to be a competitive advantage in doing business as usual. Everyone seems to want a snow day, shorter hours, more flexibility, and lower expectations. Firms that focus on getting back to normal, putting the user first again, etc, should outperform here

I think what we are really testing is how many employees did each company hire that treat working from home as a “snow day” and “shorter hours”. There no reason you cannot be as productive or more so with effective remote practises

Someone who can afford to own a ace in Jackson Hole and has enough clout that they don't get fired for not moving back.

Possible Scenario: by the time employees go back to the office they are going to forget how to interact with co-workers in person.

It’s not too bad really. I’ve worked remote for the last 12 years or so. It’s a welcome change of pace to be in office for a bit and I get so much less done when there. Always good to see the team though!

The CEOs of said start ups after being bought out then buy bigger houses in Jackson Hole
