The tell-tale sign you probably need fire yourself as an engineer from the team is when you think work starts at 6 PM—the time you can finally start programming after a full day.
Apparently in my case that’s become 9 PM

Same experience so far, only the morning left. There is no way by the end of the day there is still physical and mental energy left for any reasonable work.

Not when I was working on Viaweb. I'd written a couple books, but I didn't start writing essays till 2001.
