It is necessary, if you are rich or powerful or famous or beautiful enough, to go to a lot of trouble to be told anything that people think you might not want to hear.
Or you can have kids. Though arguably that is going to a lot of trouble.

Kids are obviously their own trouble but yeah, I’ve come to see the real need to maintain a collection of friends/partners/colleagues who reserve the right to always call out your bs, regardless of one’s status.

Putting human beings into this world to solve your personal problems seems like narcissism to me. And quite the inefficient solution. I'm not saying that you did it for that reason, but I've seen people having kids for way less.
