There is something really strange that happens again and again in technology. Things that are built to be general from the start fail to gain traction, while those that are built for a specific use-case generalize over time. The web is a great example. GPT is another one.

How do you guys explain Britannica/Wikipedia (and as an extension our
@Everipedia project)..or is there some argument that encyclopedias/universal knowledge bases are narrow in scope? -
Wikipedia would have ended up even better if they hadn't so strongly resisted the trend towards generalization (with all the "Wikipedia is not" stuff.)

Imagine a vast open land. Every time you read a good book, a building is built. Sometimes a new floor is build on a existing building. All those buildings are mental models you can live in, move around and have fun.
