Advice for authors: Don't be afraid to write a book about a narrow topic, and don't be afraid to expand the scope of the book as you're writing it.
That kind of sounds like your advice on how to start a startup. It's like saying, do things that don't scale. But maybe I'm just reading too much of your essays and connecting the dots that don't exist

Seems like an MVP for writing
As a reader, I find there's a hidden/unintuitive effect: for the former, I get the upside of being pleasantly surprised when the book goes into more things and riffs like a conversation (e.g. Fortune's Formula) In the latter, I often just never get the detail that I wanted
This also goes hand in hand with developing an idea.
