Attention is a currency. The more precisely we model attention-distribution to allocation-distribution, the better. Facebook should decentralize and make ad credits into a cryptocurrency. If they’re a blockchain, not even governments could stop them.

That’s an amazing tweet. The words are all English (many buzz words even), the grammar is correct, there are complete sentences and yet no coherent idea is expressed, they are simply words. Is this performance art by any chance or was this a serious attempt at communication?

This is a perfect argument against the notion that the main point of conversation is a transfer of information. Yes, that's still a thing, but so much of conversation (and its abstractions) is really about coming off as smart/interesting/relevant

It’s a hopeful thought. It will be interesting to see whether or not some of the more unfortunate dynamics of fandom culture replicate in this medium, as that is at least one example of a commercial relationship where people will indeed pay to be angry. We are a strange ape.
