If you use emacs you probably use them as part of your key chords. M-x command is popular. I have my lsp bound to s-l. Haven't needed hyper

so different from 'command' 'option' 'control' 'fn' ?

These days the convention is to interpret option as meta, command as super. There's no hyper-equivalent on modern keyboards, and though you can remap your keyboard to send hyper keypresses, most software doesn't know what to do with that and ignores it.
