You might think that when you're cutting stuff from an essay, the more you cut, the harder it gets. This is true at the end. But in the early stages it's sometimes not. Sometimes after cutting one bit, you look at another and think "well, I don't need this either."

In the beginning, if you don't know what to write next, it means you just wrote the wrong thing right before this.

I wish more writers used a git system for their work. I feel like it would be more inspirational for young writers to see that commit process.

Write a whole lot more than you think you need to. Even if you're saying the same thing multiple ways. One of those ways is the best for your audience.

I wish some founders would realize this when it comes to pitch decks, too.

I’d like to start writing, but I don’t want to burn my best ideas before I get good at writing. Thoughts?

No problem about writing things again. Sometimes people learn, develop new ideas, or have new perspectives. So the content will naturally change. You won’t get into writing if you write about things you aren’t interested in. So go for your passion.

I can totally relate with this. Just today I cut a para. Later I realised I don't need 4 paras after that either. It's just fluff. But it's always better to start with more and then cut keep cutting to keep the most relevant part.
