A lot of insightful people in my generation (Z) feel this way. It's generally considered unwise to share your real opinions on Twitter/IG/Facebook. In my opinion, Snapchat does the best job at solving this problem - although the friend circles are relatively small.

Small, private groups on Telegram/Keybase are exploding for reason. DM groups on Twitter are also nice... no expiring messages and Twitter surveillance as downside though.
