During the batch they must have been based in bay area. Did they have boots in the ground in the local market to do customer acquisition? Or were they managing all of that remotely

Just realized that Airbnb seems the de-facto comparison standard for many startups. IMHO, that seems very challenging to follow through. Shouldn't it be an outlier? Or there have been others from YC which outgrew Airbnb during their early years?

I have used the product. It's actually a no-nonsense, well functioning service, with minimal failures.
