If my kids were college-aged and had some project they wanted to work on this year and wanted to take a leave of absence to do it, I wouldn't try to talk them out of it.

The very reason most intn'l students want to come to US is to experience the fabled college life, and it just can't be that at home.

People might not take this seriously, but it's a big reason. You can always learn online for free but you can't buy that college experience.

Was just sayin “underlying reason people want to go to college is to live and get drunk with similar people. So replicate that for cheap just outside of a major city. Add in one sober building with cubicles for plugging in and learning online - separation from the booze”
