People who are interested in ideas tend also to be interested in censorship, for the same reason that someone living in a certain country would be interested to hear about another country attacking it.

Some people spend way more time concerned with non-mundane ideas than others. But as people, ideas are inescapable.

And of those who spend a lot of time concerned with ideas, a proportion value their ideas being criticised rationally, whilst others feel certainty that they could not be mistaken, or don't want to know if they are, and therefore embrace censoring of critics.
