When I was a kid, people who hoped one day to be in politics were careful never to smoke pot. The current generation of kids will be careful never to leave any lasting record of any of their opinions.

there is a parallel to startups: what ends political careers is not being what people want. If you are what people want, everything else is forgiven.

I think the best strategy is to not have shitty opinions. Not everyone was against weed 40 years ago. Associating weed with criminal activity was always a bad opinion. If you think one of your current opinions might not age well, ask yourself why and do some research
-
Do you know what will “age well” in 30 yrs time?

I could see the act of visiting a zoo becoming more controversial in future as animal rights continue to advance. Maybe even the act owning a pet too, but that seems harder to imagine changing in a few decades time.
-
Maybe all pet owners will becomes vegetarian like all gardeners. Wishful thinking
I cannot imagine zoo changing then again certain the owners of animals circus thought their business as future proof.

Carnivorism is one that comes to mind. Not sure I’d be all that surprised if ppl who ate meat from animals start to get cancelled in 20-40 years. Agree that no one has any actual idea what the world will look like though.
