      The more I think about it the more absurd the recency bias seems to me. You’ll only be able to see 0.0001% of all shows that were made, so why not make it the top 0.0001% of shows *ever made,* instead of just those that Netflix happens to have on its homepage?

          I used to run one of those (a bookshop, with a used books floor). Bad economics but great lessons and memories.

          Interesting. How were the economics different? I would guess the big difference between selling new and used books is that the latter take longer to sell, but in the meantime are appreciating.

          But then you have a different problem: the better a book is, the less likely it will surface in a used bookshop :) There are books I know are amazing that I've *never* found in used shops.
