I don't want to prolong this argument, since everything is now cleared up, but if you insist: you (a) quote-tweeted Massimo to encourage people to attack him (b) using a false accusation. If you agree that makes you a jerk, I take back the random, and we're square.
Massimo wouldn't alter an image to remove credit. It's not his style. A lot of stuff on the internet has been altered many times. So if you repost a lot of stuff you find online, like he does, some of it will have had the author's name stripped out.

If folks don't want to be called out for posting without credit, the best thing to do would be to just NOT post things without credit. If you can't find the creator to cite them, find something else to post where you can. It's not like there's a shortage of content.
