i think he means it’s really painful to reinvent a archaic industry to do that you really need to wade through the crap of the education systems to find the hacks and fix them same with healthcare
I don't know how far this generalizes. It was not the case with Viaweb. Programming was the fun part. Even grim sysadmin stuff like dealing with server crashes was fun, compared to the rest.
