You are on the opposite side, but not of the line they claim. You're not on the opposite side of the line separating them from their opponents, but of another orthogonal line separating the reasonable from the unreasonable (which includes many of their opponents as well).

There was an idea being floated around. A 3 month cooling period before firing someone over ANY social media “scandal". The idea was if it wasn't important 3 months later, it probably wasn't all that important to begin with. If it was, it probably is. Your thoughts on this?

“The opinions that are held with passion are always those for which no good ground exists; indeed the passion is the measure of the holders lack of rational conviction. Opinions in politics and religion are almost always held passionately.” ― Bertrand Russell

When religion & politics travel in the same cart, they believe nothing can stand in their way. Their movements become headlong- faster & faster. They put aside all thoughts of obstacles and forget the precipice does not show itself to the man in a blind rush until it's too late.

Moved to the UK from Zimbabwe after college thinking that I was finally going to live in free society after being born and raised in Mugabe's dictatorship. Its alarming how western nations are becoming self-imposed dictorships were silence is the golden rule of social survival.

At least you’re not in San Francisco. Lots of highly educated people here pretending to believe in pseudo-biology and apologizing profusely for their existence.

Is "only people who hold my beliefs are reasonable" a reasonable position?
-
No. But if your beliefs can't change despite changing evidence then your beliefs aren't reasonable. And if you are not open to new evidence challenging your beliefs then you are not reasonable.
