I’m curious, do you think if you started programming as a kid today you would still be drawn to lisp?
I still think it's uniquely elegant. The question is whether I'd have seen that as a kid. At the time I learned it because it was supposed to be the language of AI.
Same here, back in 93... nice side effect I got to learn emacs 
I was studying AI in England around that time and although I encountered Lisp all the AI used Prolog and Poplog. I didn’t really find Lisp until about 10-15 years later
