Following the overwhelming response to this, it’s clear that we need a much better MBA Reading List. I’m compiling one that I’ll circulate to my students and colleagues at other b-schools. Other than the books/authors already mentioned in this chain, what others come to mind?https://twitter.com/LauraHuangLA/status/1273737708708466690 …

One goes to business school to earn keys, some are made of gold. However golden they may shine and doors they could unlock, the simple act of stepping through fails to be easy.

With you both on this! Want to share this short piece: https://mbachic.com/2019/01/11/i-think-i-want-an-mba-wait-do-i/ … If someone casually mentions an MBA to us, we usually reply with this — getting clear on the “why an MBA” is key. Wouldn’t *avoid* business school as a founder, but agree it’s not totally necessary

Business schools are more about how to manage existing companies, case studies of things that went wrong in management roles and possible solutions. They don't teach you how to start a startup, fundraise, how to talk to your users, do analytics, find a suitable cofounder etc
