@paulg Unimportant question, but about how long do you spend on research v writing your essays? If an average is not knowable, then how about just your most recent?
Usually I write about things I already know about, so not much, except to check whether I'm remembering things correctly. "The Refragmentation" was an exceptional case because I had to read about 20 books.
