The Basecamp guys are better at marketing than almost anyone else. They can shape a broader narrative for their projects to ride *so well.* They just took something that has bothered thousands of developers for years, turned that into *the* story, and piggyback on it.

They have lots of experience with beef-as-marketing. Apple may not realize what they're in for.

The number of people that have now heard of Hey is probably an order of magnitude greater than it would have been without the controversy.

Just for clarity which controversy is this one? The debate over 100 hour workweek last year or something new?

Interesting. Could this be a Thiel/Hogan redux?

Apple has plenty of experience with “I don’t care what you think” as a stance, however. 🍿

I was switching to Apple for Rails mainly because of @dhh advertising it so hard. Sad to see that how they behave.

😁😂 beef-as-marketing (BAS). I liked the term and I think that Steve Job would used the same against IBM. The BaseCamp guys should ride on this as much as they can till Apple capitulate. What goes around comes around.
