Paul, I’m a self taught coder with no degree, and for whatever reason, I rarely get even a coding challenge back from a job application. Are you sure about this? I’m in vancouver bc so maybe the culture is different. I’d like to know if it’s just that my github sucks basically

Degrees are required for quite a few visa classes. No degree as a requirement for job will limit pool to US applicants. But ultimately I agree.

So called technical ability generally results in crap code & solutions which generally have to be remediated & increase system support. Targetting coders like a conveyor belt production line is short sited, educated coders have a longer career future
