Good point, I always felt this way, but never articulated it. The idea of high potential startups throwing themselves at the feet of the uninspired...was always slightly annoying

Do you get a lot of people thinking the route to YC is to take one of your ideas then apply with that? (even if they don't have any unique insight or passion for it)

i think he wants people to apply with it actually, and trusts the yc team to see if the person is really up to the task and has some insight there
