You can measure the level of intolerance in a society by whether you can say that there are things that are true, but that you can't say. Every society I know of has had them. When the fact that yours has them becomes one of them, you've reached level 2.

Parents / Institutions will try to correct kids' natural tendency to be left-handed, as it's perceived as less "normal", practical, and/or compliant.

My grandma was born leftie, but was taught out of it cause being left handed was considered not normal back then (1950s Eastern Europe)
