Herd immunity has been an idea that's been brought up. I'm curious to see if it's something we'd implement to scale.

We're like 1/10th of the way there and lost over 110k lives. So not sure herd immunity is our best strategy.

Had a 10 week run before it finally lifted, miracle that it’s over. My brother, an infectious disease consultant at a major hospital, guided me to quarantine the whole time through because we as far as we know one might be contagious for the whole duration, though it’s unlikely

These seem to be outliers too. But in life, as with investing, you have to take (calculated) risk. If you want to lead a life that is without risk, it's IMO a life not worth living... (again, as in investing, others may choose differently).

Such a trite take to say "gotta take risks." That can literally rationalize any activity, not to mention the fact that you're taking risks with other people's lives. "Drunk driving...gotta take risks, ya know."
