An example to illustrate how hard it would be for forums to implement fact-checking: Is there an exemption for religious beliefs? And if so, how do you define a religion? Is young Earth creationism banned?

That is exactly what would happen. Anyone who wanted to make any statement could just say it was part of their religion, and the forum would then be powerless to stop them.

I think we need an earmark for "tapping out" intellectually. Once a religion/ "I just feel like X" - is tagged we recognize that and we also recognize you have reduced capacity to use that "fact" in real-world decisions.
