Isn’t it possible that all these charts are just tracking how mainstream and newsworthy these words are? Would love to see these juxtaposed with something like google search trends (since 2000 at least).
How do you define “too sharp”? Everything including social/cultural change is happening more and more rapidly. I don’t yet see a plausible reason to assume that the data above correlate with a change in business models rather than this acceleration.
