Paul Graham added,
If there are going to be politically neutral news organizations in the future, they might have to be designed explicitly for that purpose by adding one new principle: assume the staff will have different opinions, and none is allowed to tell another what to say or not say.
It may be that most people just want their preconceptions confirmed, but I think there is some market for neutral news. And it could be valuable out of proportion to its size, because the people in it would probably be both smarter and richer than the rest of the population.
It will be hard to find neutral reporters. People are too polarized/brainwashed already. Maybe we can subsidize a bunch of Physics & Math majors to become journalists?
There may not be that many of them, but it would be easy to recruit those that do exist. Imagine how much they must hate their current jobs.
