Instead from where I sit, the American polity seems unequally polarized. So the frame of "there's a far left at 0, a far right at 100, and 'reasonable' in the center" doesn't match the reality I see.
You don't seem to understand. The whole point of the essay is that for any given question, the right answer is *not* in the center but rather in a random position.

When you wrote, "the far right and far left are roughly equally wrong" and "moderate's opinions will be scattered over a broad range, but will...average to about 50" I understood that to imply two equal polar groups. Did I misunderstand? If so curious what you do think instead?

I did write that, but that's not the same as saying "reasonable is in the center." Reasonable is scattered all over.
