But is it possible to have neutral news? At best one could be within boundaries but not neutral.
What if you paid for the news in arrears based on how correct it is ten days later? Journalists get paid x for publishing, y for being right.
Love this idea. You'd get a trend of articles having large figurative error bars to be found correct (good, they had to spell out both sides). But spicy writers should get higher bonuses for correct tight predictions

If eyeballs are the currency, don't see how a private market for neutral news can exist in a state of constant conflict of interest, IMO it'd need to be a public service funded by the Govt. BBC UK and ABC news Aus are "more neutral" sources because of this, but not perfect.
BBC writers aren't primarily working for eyeballs, but the esteem of their peers. A groupthink suffuses their writings and choice of topics.
They just need to tell the truth and protect the disadvantaged. There is a big market for truth and plenty of disadvantaged. Also they still suck at online distribution and discovery. Most Youtubers have more reach by just telling people to hit the bell.
News cannot be completely neutral because you have to pick which news to report and which to leave out. You also have to pick order and availability
e.g. just look at the success of Joe Rogan, currently the most politically neutral news organization in the US.
