It is hard to understand how people can intentionally hurt others. When unimaginable actions occur, such as those that took George Floyd’s life, the individuals who acted in this way must be judged, as well as the context and history, all must be challenged. 1/-

This is something I've been thinking about for a long time, ofc I'm not on the same level as Max or others, but here's my opinion nonetheless: 1. Fulfillment - a subjective measure of how meaningful you feel your life is and why e.g. how many people feel x% fulfilled
-
2. Community - both micro & macro measure of relationships (depth, diversity, and quality) e.g. how many friends/family do you speak to on a daily basis? What's the quality of those conversations? What's the range of people you speak to/ connect with? For groups & individuals.

Infant mortality is good because it's hard to 'cheat' your way to low infant mortality. A lot of things have to go right for infant mortality to be low. While in many other metrics Goodhart's law applies. (Which is an argument against the 'as few as possible' point).

The way we try to answer it is to have one measure for each problem we care about and we make it a kind of KPI that we list at the link in the big overview on the homepage of http://OurWorldInData.org . Here is a snapshot.pic.twitter.com/XmoI4kRmoO
