That's how window glass used to be made. The disc was cut into pieces. The middle bit, with the lump, was the cheapest — so you'd see it in the window of a pub rather than a rich person's house.

How would you cut that into pieces in a way that looks good in a rich person's house? It doesn't seem large enough. I see the part with the lump, but it seems like if you cut the rest up, that part won't be usable in anything else.
