When experts in a field start referencing from their peers and focus on seeking validity, only from their peers, what we get - Echo Chambers. These "customers" are actually those non-experts, or outsider perspective, from which fresh knowledge is derived.

I guess that depends on the field? New comers to a field bring new ideas, but still requires focus and studying the field to an extent. I would prefer if surgeries are still performed and advised by experts
