My father, who designed reactors, used to say you could tell how well a reactor was run from looking at the control room. (He also said that Soviet control rooms tended to be messy.)

What I find funny is that old movies (usually sci fi, but not always) when they have computers they today look like overdone almost parodies of "science looking room". But you see these pics and they were just accurate portrayals of the computers of the times.
