If the only way cofounders can stop arguing is by making up artificial rules about who's in charge of what, like kids drawing a line across a room and saying "stay on your side," the startup is probably doomed unless one leaves.

I don’t disagree, but after working pro-bono with multiple startups, the belief in the cause or product often determines the level of flexibility and ability to find common ground. It can’t be a blanket statement, but more an eval of the cofounder commitment to the end user
