At least you are thinking about it!
Was thinking about what I want for my kids. The most concise answer I could come up with is that I want them to live life to the fullest. Then I realized I have no idea how to do this myself. So that is probably not a very useful answer.

There is no purpose except to be. The thing that we be, it seeks purpose. Without the futile search for purpose we would not have come into existence in the first place. So we go on seeking purpose, and it may as well be called our purpose to do so.

It’s probably the right answer, but the specifics of what that means is really each individual’s grail quest. Know Thyself is a a journey, not so much a destination. Teach them to be authentic, and to not act based on the expectations or judgment of others.

This assumes ones’s authentic self is good and virtuous. Which, as we all know when we get to know ourselves, is often not. We need an objective restraint to our actions.
