Hard to say exactly how affluent it was. The construction costs would have been literally astronomical, but the land would have been free.

No it’s an expensive place- There’s a Pierre paulin ribbon chair in there (they are extraordinary and one of the most comfortable chairs I know) that goes for about $10k in today’s dollars
